Sending your first campaign

Three things before the send button.

The list is formatted as a sheet, with a name, a number column, and any fields the message will quote.

You know where replies go. On a shared workspace they wait in the claims queue until someone takes them. A personal campaign assigns them to the person who sent it.

You have picked a campaign type. A single blast sends when you say send. A burst spreads the same message over several days. A scheduled campaign waits for a date and time. A personal campaign sends like a blast and keeps the replies with the sender.

The message

Write one text. Where a cell should appear, use the column title in braces.

Hey {Name}, Ernesto from Ernesto’s Home and Yard Repair here. I repaired your {repair type} in {month}. Any repair booked before New Year’s is 20 percent off. Reply if you want it on the calendar.

{Name} has to match the column. If the cell says “multiple” or the month is a full date, the sentence will say that too. Formatting the message is that check, done before the file is large.

Segment math runs after the variables are filled in. A short name and a long name can land on different segment counts.

Test, then send

On the campaign setup, under the message, use “Test your message” and put in your own number. Read it on a phone. Then send.

The segment budget stays in the sidebar while you work. An uploaded sheet either finishes or shows the error. You can remove it and replace it.
